The Amorous Call Sounds In Vain

The spring of my life is no more

The spring of my life has left me long.
The dry, deserted 'I' in me can no longer
Responds to your lusty Call, my Sweet-heart,
As I could in those bygone days.
The path that leads to you is covered
With only lifeless leaves and petals
Of faded memories - that's too meagre
My dear, to offer to your alluring charm.

Your enticing call like an enchanting flute
Longs to enliven my insensitive heart;
Yet I remain mute, for you know not -
I am bereft of all adornments of youth
To reciprocate with your beckoning rapturous.

(This is a versification of a Famous lyric written by Rabindranath Tagore, dedicated to Love Divine, that dwells In the heart of every one. Here 'I' represents the inner self-- third person/ singular)

Here is the link to the song for reference.
