Holding up their heads so high
The palm trees stood in rows
Along the brink of a lake nearby.
In and with the Sun they leaped and dipped;
As if a soul of flipping fish
Deep down the water - Calm and quiet.
The fairy lass, busy in talking to lilies sweet -
Stammering said, "I do not know it happened why."
The naughty lad got bewitched and fishy too
To see such a scene of utter fantasy.
From nowhere stepped in the grandpa there
And murmured, "Shush! Shush! Shush!
Go home and straight to bed shut-lipped;
For the bodiless who do such sly tricks,
Are soon be at their nocturnally feast.
Tomorrow with the Dawn's flashing light
Changed in shadowy forms, in disguise
They lurk in the lake again to swim,
To sway and swing in the water beneath so bright.
