নূতন বছরে পুরনো দিনের
আছে যতো দিনলিপি,
ফেলোনা তাদের, রেখে দিও বুকে
অতীতের স্বরলিপি।
তাই দিয়ে গান বাঁধ নবসুরে,
নবতান , নবছন্দ –
হৃদয়ে ফুটুক আশার কুসুম,
চিত্তে বিমলানন্দ ।

The Year you've bade good bye,
Forget it, but forget not the vibration
Of the musical tunes it has left.
These notes of melodies won't die,
Will keep memories enlivened,
Enlighten the days to come.
A new symphony 'll be composed,
To bring us together, here on
The Earth's green and beneath
The Sky azure.
Let an orchestra play and sing
The song of love, peace and pleasure
Amidst fever, fright, pain and languor.
