রবীন্দ্র সুর-ব্যঞ্জনা

Niরবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীতের সুর‌ সঙ্গীত- প্রেমীদের কাছে মুগ্ধতার । হৃদয় ,মন আবিষ্ট করে দেয়।

কিন্তু সেই সব গানের বাণী যে কী‌ গভীর ব্যঞ্জনায় ঋদ্ধ তা জানতে হলে বাঙলা ভাষাটি ভালোভাবে জানা চাই । যাঁরা বাঙলা ভাষাটি কম জানেন , ইংরেজিতে পারদর্শী  তাঁদের জন্য কিছু রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত  ইংরেজি ভাষায় অনুবাদ :

I have versified into English a few incomparably romantic lyrics of Tagore for the music lovers who are not familiar with Bengali tongue, Bengali vocabulary but versed and proficient in English .

আমায় ডাকলে কেন গো এমন করে?

যেতে হবে যে পথ বেয়ে

শুকনো পাতা আছে ছেয়ে

হাতে আমার শূণ্য ডালা

কী‌ ফুল দিয়ে দেব ভরে?

গান হারা মোর হৃদয় তলে

তোমার ব্যকুল বাঁশী কী যে বলে।

নেই আয়োজন নেই মম ধন,

নেই আভরণ, নেই আবরণ--

রিক্ত বাহু এই তো আমার 

বাঁধবে তোমায় বাহুর ডোরে ।।

I, dry and deserted,can no longer respond

To your lusty call,my sweet -heart,

As l could in those bygone days.

The path that leads to you, my love, is covered 

With lifeless leaves and petals

Of faded memories –those too, are too frivolous, 

My dear, to offer to your alluring charm .

Your enticing winking like an enchanting flute

Longing long for enlivening my insensitive heart ; 

Yet l remain mute ,for, you know not 

I ,bereft of all adornments of youth,

Can scarcely reciprocate with your beckoning–

 Rapturous, irresistible.
